Itinerary

Day 1 - Guwahati – Shillong (ASSAM – MEGHALAYA)

Arrive Guwahati airport and drive to Shillong (140 kms / 4 hrs drive approx). Check-in Hotel and after refreshment time permits we visit Cathedral of Marry and Ward’s Lake, evening roam the Shillong famous Police Bazar on foot. Overnight in Shillong.

Day 2 - Shillong – Cherrapunjee – Shillong (MEGHALAYA)

you will be traveling to Cherrapunjee – the wettest place on the earth. En route visit the famous Elephant Falls. At Cherrapunjee visit – Mawsmai Cave, Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai Falls. After lunch at Cherrapunjee, visit Thankarang Park, Koh Ramhah and Khrem Falls. Drive back to Shillong for overnight halt.

Day 3 - Shillong – Kaziranga (ARUNACHAL PRADESH – ASSAM)

After breakfast drive to Kaziranga National Park (235 kms / 07 hrs). Reach Kaziranga check into hotel and overnight stay. Kaziranga National Park: In the heart of Assam, covering an area of 430 sq-kms, is inhabited by the world\'s largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses, as well as many mammals, including tigers, elephants, panthers and bears, and thousands of birds. In 1985, it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its unique natural environment.

Day 4 - Kaziranga National Park (ASSAM)

After breakfast enjoy the Park on a Jeep. Evening visit tea garden and local villages. Overnight at Kaziranga. Note: Elephant ride is not included, it will not be possible to confirm by today. It will be possible to confirm or not before one day of the date. Note: This is for your information that elephant ride and jeep safari and forest entry are regulated and controlled by the forest dept. Govt. of Assam. As such we do not have any control for booking of elephant seats and entry by jeeps

Day 5 - Kaziranga- Tezpur

After breakfast drive to Tezpur. Over night at Tezpur.

Day 6 - Tezpur- Dirang (ASSAM – ARUNACHAL PRADESH)

Today after breakfast drive to Dirang (380 kms / 11+ hrs), enroute at Tipi visit Orchid Center and enroute visit Sessa Orchid Sanctuary (blooming is from end March till May), reach Dirang. Check into the hotel and overnight at Dirang.

Day 7 - Dirang & Tawang (ARUNACHAL PRADESH)

Today after breakfast drive to Tawang (160 kms / 08 hrs), enroute you will visit Sella Pass and Sella Lake situated at an altitude of 13476 ft. Also visit Jaswant Ghar and before reaching Tawang visit the Nunarang fall. Reach Tawang and check into Hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight at Tawang.

Day 8 - Tawang (ARUNACHAL PRADESH)

Today visit Tawang Monestry - The Famous Gaden Namgyal Lhatse, popularly known as Tawang Monastery was founded by Merak Lama Lodre Gyatso in the year 1680-81. The monastery stands on the spur of a hill, about 10,000 feet above sea level and has ravines in the south and west, narrow ridge on the north and gradual slope on the east. It offers a commanding and picturesque view of the Tawang-chu valley. From a distance it appears like a fort as if guarding the votaries in the wide valley below. Tawang monastery is the largest of its kind in the country and is one of the larges t monasteries in Asia. Though it has the capacity for housing about seven hundred monks, the actual number of resident lamas (monks) at present is a little more than 450. This monastery is the fountain-head of the spiritual life of the people of this region. Also visit Urgelling Monastery - the birth place of Sixth Dalia Lama. Ani Gompa. after a late lunch and refreshment visit Tawang War Memorial and evening at leisure. Overnight at Tawang.

Day 9 - Tawang & Dirang (ARUNACHAL PRADESH)

After breakfast drive to Dirang (180 Kms / 6 hrs drive). Overnight in Hotel.

Day 10 - Dirang & Tezpur (ARUNACHAL PRADESH- ASSAM)

After breakfast drive to Tezpur (160 kms. 6 hrs drive approx). Over night at Tezpur.

Day 11 - Tezpur- Guwahati (ASSAM)

After breakfast drive to Guwahati visit Kamakhya temple – it is situated at the top of the Nilachal Hill at about 800 feet above the sea level. The entire temple complex not only comprises of many other temples but also a whole set of people connected with them. Apart from the main Devi temple, it also comprises of some other major temples of Devi Kali, Tara, Bagala, Chinnamasta, Bhuvanesvari, Bhairavi and Dhumavati. (Timing 08:00 A.M till 01:00 P.M & 3:00 P.M till its gets dark) Also visit Sankardev Kalakhetra – light and sound show or evening river cruise on mighty river Brahmaputra on direct payment. Overnight at Guwahati.

Day 12 - Guwahati (ASSAM)

After breakfast drive to Guwahati and visit Sualkuchi village (Manchester of North East India) which is 35 km from Guwahati. This is the textile center of Assam. Muga silk and Pat silk along with Eri silk and Endi cloth from this region is famous for its quality. Mekhela chadors and Gamosas made from this indigenous materials is in demand throughout Assam as well as other parts of India. Also visit Hajo Temple, later return to Guwahati visit Umananda Temple and after refreshment visit Balaji Temple, Emporium, Sankardev Kalasetra – light and sound Show. Overnight at Guwahati.

Day 13 - Guwahati airport (ASSAM- departure)

With the best memory of the trip leaving the state and heading toward onward journey
