Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival at Chennai
Upon arrival at Chennai International airport, you will be welcome by Travelogy India Representative. Transfer to hotel, Check in formalities. Overnight at Chennai.
Day 2 - Chennai Sightseeing
Time to visit capital city of Tamil Nadu, Chennai on coromandel coast. Kick off Chennai sightseeing with Parthasarathy Temple, Kapaleeshwar Temple and Adeeswar Temple and more. Relax on Marina beach, one of the longest of world's beach ranking. Later Drop to hotel, Overnight at Chennai.
Day 3 - Chennai – Tirupati - Chennai( by Car )
Begin journey with one of the holiest Hindu Pilgrimage Tirupati Temple located in the hill town of Tirumala. Temple dedicated to Lord Sri Venkateswara, an incarnation of Vishnu. It is richest temple in the world in terms of donations received. After Darshan at Temple and head back to Chennai city.
Day 4 - Chennai - Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram( by Car )
Today we will explore two famous Heritage and Architecture cities Kanchipuram and Mahabalipuram. While going Mahabalipuram, Kanchipuram falls inbetween. Kanchipuram offers sightseeing of Varadharaja Perumal Temple, Ekambareshwrar temple, Kamakshi Amman Temple. If time permits visit to silk weaving factories of Kanchipuram. On arrive at Mahabalipuram visit to UNESCO heritage listed group of monuments recognized at World Heritage sites.
Day 5 - Mahabalipuram – Pondicherry( by Car )
Having your breakfast leave for Pondicherry the treasure and rich history and culture Admire architecture of Auroville township, Sri Aurobindo Ashram, famous promenade beach and Manakula Vinayagar Devasthanam Temple, Mahatma Gandhi Statue and French war memorial. Evening French colony walk. Back to hotel, Night spend at Pondihcerry.
Day 6 - Pondicherry - Chidambaram - Tanjore
Drive to city of Great living Chola Temples Tanjore. But before that en route visit to Thillai Natraja Templelocated in a town Chidambaram. Temple is major shrine of Lord Shiva worship since the classical period. Continue your drive to Tanjore, Overnight at Tanjore.
Day 7 - Tanjore - Trichy - Madurai
Start your day with 1000 year old Brihadeeshwar Temple, Great living chola Temples and leave for glorious city of Madurai. En route visit to Tiruchirappali, once the part of chola Kingdom. Visit sculpted temples and Fortress of Trichy. Begin with Jambukeswarar Temple, Sri Rangnathaswamy Temple and Rockfort temple. Drive to Madurai continue. On arrive check in to hotel. Overnight at Madurai.
Day 8 - Madurai Sightseeing
Full day at leisure to explore this wonderful city. Choose from pilgrimage site Meenakshi Amman Temple, historical monument Tirumalai Nayak Palace being the most prominent. Back to hotel relax for while. Post dinner take you to Meenakshi Temple once again to attend Madurai temple night ceremony. Overnight spend at Madurai.
Day 9 - Madurai – Rameshwaram
Head to Rameshwaram situated one and only island seprated from mainland India. Here pay your visit to Ramnathaswamy Temple dedicated to the Hindu god Rama. Post darshan and pooja ceremony at templeback to hotel and night spend at Rameshwaram.
Day 10 - Rameshwaram - Kanyakumari
This morning follow scenic drive known from Rameshwaram to Kanyakuamri a costal town. Enroute visit to Thiruchendur Murugun Temple. Continue drive to Kanyakumari. On arrive enjoy sunset view of Kanyakuamri shore. Overnight at Kanyakuamri.
Day 11 - Kanyakumari to Trivandrum
Early morning see sunrise, after Breakfast checkout from hotel and Drive to Trivandrum and check in the hotel
Day 12 - Trivandrum Sightseeing
In the morning, take a road journey to Trivandrum. The places you will visit here includes Aruvipuram Siva Temple, Janardhan Swamy Temple, Sree Parasurama Temple, the Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Ganapati Temple and Sree Kanteswaram Temple. Other places that you will visit include Chitra Art Gallery and Napier Museum. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 13 - Trivandarm – Kovalam
After breakfast, depart to Kovalam visiting. Check in to your hotel at Kovalam. Explore and relax in one of the famous beach of India. Overnight stay at beach resort.
Day 14 - Kovalam Sightseeing
Morning After breakfast at 9.00 proceed to full day touring in Kovalam, you will visit Vizhinjam Marine Aquerium, Halcyon Castle, Analothbhave Mathe Church, Fishing Harbour, Vizhinjam Village, Samudra Beach, Rock Cut Cave, Chowara, Poovar... Overnight stay in the Hotel at Kovalam
Day 15 - Kovalam - Kumarakom
After breakfast check out from Kovalam hotel and drive to Kumarakom. Check in to the hotel. Afternoon proceeds for local sightseeing in and around Kumarakom - a tiny backwater hamlet perched on the western banks of the Vembanadu Lake. The stretch of backwater is spread over 900 sq. km. Choose a canoe, motor boat or a houseboat and devour the beauty of this backwater paradise at its best. Overnight stay is arranged in Kumarakom.
Day 16 - Kumarakom Sightseeing
Kumarakom, the queen of Vembanad, is a ‘resort’ destination. This tiny village on the edge of Vembanad Lake was practically unknown till one Henry Baker purchased land from the erstwhile King of Travancore to build himself a grand home. Kumarakom, today is a maze of modern resorts and heritage-homes-cum-hotels spilling over the island’s bank. Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is a must-visit with its numerous beautiful rivulets and waterways. The scenic Vembanad Lake surrounded by mangrove forests and paddy fields is one of the best places for bird viewing inside the sanctuary. A large population of feathered species along with a pleasant climate make it a great picnic spot. As Kumarakom is a popular backwater destination in Kerala, a houseboat cruise is a must-do activity for visitors. A boat cruise on the beautiful Vembanad lake is one of the best ways to enjoy birdwatching in the park. One can also enjoy wildlife photography at Pathiramanal - a small island on the lake. A little ahead of Kumarakom, you can visit the backwater town of Kottayam – packed with rubber plantations and majestic old churches.
Day 17 - Kumarakom – Cochin
Proceed to Cochin and check into the hotel. Kochi (colonial name Cochin) is a vibrant city situated on the south-west coast of the Indian peninsula in the breathtakingly scenic and prosperous state of Kerala, hailed as 'God's Own Country'. Informally, Cochin is also referred to as the Gateway to Kerala. Sightseeing attractions include Fort Cochin Beach, Mattancherry Palace, Willingdon Island, Chinese Fishing Net, Church of Saint. Francis, Paradesi Synagogue, etc.
Day 18 - Cochin – Munnar
Upon arrival check in at hotel. Munnar is located at the confluence of 03 rivers as the very name signifies. The sprawling tea plantations and picturesque towns make Munnar a popular hill resort town in South India. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay at the Hotel. Sightseeing:- Enroute visit Kodanadu elephant care centre, Cheyyara waterfalls, Valara waterfalls, Attukadu waterfalls, Spice plantations etc. Distance between Cochin to Munnar is 135 Kms (3.5 hours) by road
Day 19 - Munnar Local sightseeing
In the morning start the sightseeing of Munnar visiting the tea plantations, Tea Museum, the Eravikulam National park home of the endangered Niligiri Thar (Ibex), followed by visit to the Mattupetty dam, the the Kundala Lake and other scenic spots. Overnight stay at the Hotel. Sightseeing:- Eravikulam National Park (Raja Malai), mattupetty dam, tea estates, eco point, spice plantation, rose garden, photo point, honey bee tree, tea museum, blossom park, kundale dam and top station
Day 20 - Munnar – Trivandrum
Drive Trivandrum airport for Delhi / Onward Destination Early morning watch the sunshine. After breakfast, visit Vivekanada Rock, Kanyakumari temple, Gandhi Memorial etc. and drive to Trivandrum / cochin airport/ Rail station to catch the Flight / Train for your onward journey.
