Bhutan Tour Packages from Siliguri & Bagdogra
Planning a Bhutan trip from India? You're closer than you think. From Siliguri, the Bhutan border at Phuentsholing is just about 4 hours by road, and from there you're into a country that still feels untouched. Clean roads, quiet towns, dzongs that are centuries old and people who are genuinely warm.
We run Bhutan tour packages from Siliguri, NJP and Bagdogra for families, couples and groups. Most of our guests do Phuentsholing, Thimphu, Punakha and Paro in 5 to 7 days, and we take care of the permit, hotels, car and guide so you only have to enjoy the trip.
How to Reach Bhutan from Siliguri
The most common route is by road. You drive from Siliguri or NJP to Jaigaon (about 160 km), cross into Phuentsholing, get your entry permit and continue to Thimphu the next morning. If you prefer flying, Druk Air and Bhutan Airlines operate flights to Paro from Bagdogra, Kolkata and Delhi. Many of our guests enter by road and fly back, which saves a full day of driving.
Places We Cover in Our Bhutan Packages
Thimphu: Bhutan's capital, and the only one in the world without a traffic light. Visit the giant Buddha Dordenma, Tashichho Dzong, the Memorial Chorten and the weekend market.
Punakha: On the way you cross Dochula Pass with its 108 chortens. Punakha Dzong, built where two rivers meet, is easily the most beautiful building in Bhutan. Don't skip the suspension bridge.
Paro: Home to the Tiger's Nest Monastery (Taktsang). The hike takes around 4 to 5 hours up and back, and ponies are available for half the way. Paro town itself is small and lovely for an evening walk.
Chele La Pass and Haa Valley: If you have an extra day, this is worth it. Chele La is the highest motorable pass in Bhutan, and Haa is one of the least visited valleys in the country.
Phobjikha Valley: Best between November and February when the black-necked cranes arrive from Tibet.
Best Time to Visit Bhutan
March to May and September to November are the best months. Spring brings rhododendrons in bloom, and autumn gives clear mountain views and the famous Thimphu and Paro festivals. December to February is cold but peaceful, and hotels are cheaper. June to August is monsoon, so roads can get slow, but the valleys are at their greenest.
